How to Uninstall Liquid Rhythm / Liquid Music on Apple OS X

Please note that regardless of whether you are a Liquid Rhythm or Liquid Music owner, these steps are the same.

Uninstall Liquid Music on Apple OS X

In Apple OS X, the Liquid Music package installs the following:

  • Liquid Rhythm Standalone
  • Liquid Music VST / AU
  • Liquid Rhythm VST / AU / RTAS
  • Liquid Music & Liquid Rhythm Max for Live

Please follow the steps below to cleanly uninstall Liquid Music and the components listed above. All directory locations listed below will be accessible using Finder.

  1. Remove the application.
    delete /Applications/
  2. Remove the plugins.
    delete /Library/Audio/Plug-ins/Components/LiquidMusic.component
    delete /Library/Audio/Plug-ins/Components/LiquidRhythm.component
    delete /Library/Audio/Plug-ins/VST/LiquidMusic.vst
    delete /Library/Audio/Plug-ins/VST/LiquidRhythm.vst
    delete /Library/Application Support/Digidesign/Plug-ins/LiquidRhythm.dpm
    delete /Users/<username>/Library/Application Support/Cycling '74/AudioUnits/LiquidRhythm.auinfo
  3. Remove the Max4Live Ableton patch.
    delete /Users/<username>/Music/Ableton/User Library/Presets/MIDI Effects/Max MIDI Effect/LiquidMusic.amxd
    delete /Users/<username>/Music/Ableton/User Library/Presets/MIDI Effects/Max MIDI Effect/LiquidRhythm.amxd
  4. Remove user data–including config files, logs, and downloaded content. 

    Note: Your Liquid Rhythm project files might have saved to this location. Please be sure to back up any of your work before deleting them!

    delete /Users/<username>/LiquidRhythm
    delete /Library/Application Support/LiquidRhythm
  5. Remove standalone MaxMSP preference files. 
    delete /Users/<username>/Library/Application Support/LiquidLoops Audio Engine Preferences
